Ecosystem Spotlight: PACT Protocol — Bringing Over Half a Billion Active Loans On-Chain

The Aptos ecosystem is home to some of the fastest-growing projects in decentralized finance (DeFi), including PACT Protocol. Since migrating to Aptos earlier this year, PACT has recently surpassed $1.89 billion in total loans issued on-chain and $610 million in active loans.

These milestones highlight the accelerating adoption of on-chain credit markets and underscore why Aptos’ scalable infrastructure is the right foundation for the next era of digital finance.

Building the Next Generation of Credit Markets

PACT Protocol enables fintech lenders, institutional investors and capital market participants to issue, manage and securitize loans directly on-chain. By reducing costs and offering more transparency, PACT aims to make credit markets faster and more accessible.

The potential impact is global: more than 85% of the world’s population lacks access to traditional financial services. By leveraging the Aptos blockchain, PACT helps extend financial inclusion to billions of people worldwide.

A Natural Fit for Scalable Finance

When PACT announced its arrival on Aptos, it brought with it more than $1 billion in on-chain assets on day one. The decision to integrate Aptos was rooted in the network’s institutional-grade infrastructure:

  • Speed and Throughput: Aptos processes transactions with sub-second finality that can support hundreds of millions of daily transactions—essential for high-volume lending activity.

  • Cost Efficiency: With network gas fees that remain a fraction of a penny, Aptos enables cost-effective lending and borrowing at scale.

  • Security: Built using the Move programming language, Aptos delivers a security-first architecture designed to prevent common exploits. Additionally, PACT Protocol utilizes BitGo for custody and compliance, the preferred security and operational backbone for more than 1,500 institutional clients worldwide.

  • Financial Connectivity: With native USDC and USDT support, Aptos enables PACT to interoperate across global financial systems and institutional partners.

Such features support PACT’s mission to build a new kind of financial system.

Momentum Since Launch

PACT’s journey on Aptos is just getting started, already reporting:

  • $1.89B total loans issued on‑chain

  • $610M active loans on‑chain

  • A growing ecosystem of lenders, borrowers and institutions tapping into on-chain credit

This adoption reflects the demand for more efficient credit infrastructure to support global lending at scale.

What’s Ahead

Looking ahead, PACT’s migration to Aptos is likely to unlock even greater network and community engagement as the PACT token continues transitioning to the network.

From real-world asset tokenization to global lending markets, Aptos provides the performance and credibility needed to power the next generation of digital credit. With PACT’s model and Aptos’ infrastructure, the ecosystem is moving closer to a financial system that is more inclusive, scalable and accessible for all.
