January Wrapped: Aptos Ecosystem Making Strong Moves Into 2025

The Aptos ecosystem has kicked off 2025 with an impressive collection of wins signaling strong momentum for the network. Here’s a glimpse of some of the big moves from across the community.

Hello Zaptos, Goodbye Latency

Aptos Labs announced Zaptos, a new proposed parallel pipeline blockchain architecture that could reduce end-to-end latency by 170 ms under low load and over 500 ms (40%) under high load. With sub-second finality at 20K TPS, Zaptos could reshape DeFi, gaming, payments and more.

USDC x Aptos

Native USDC and Circle's Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) are now live on Aptos mainnet, making the largest regulated dollar stablecoin accessible to all developers and users without relying on cross-chain bridges. With this integration complete, users can now also seamlessly transfer USDC between Aptos and 9 other major blockchains—including Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum, and Solana—thanks to CCTP.

USDC on Aptos is supported across Aptos ecosystem apps, including Aries Markets, Merkle Trade, Echelon Market, Thala Labs, Echo Protocol, Cellana, Liquidswap, Aptin Labs, Thetis Market, Superposition, Joule Finance, AGDEX, Kana Labs, Panora Exchange, VibrantX, Meso Finance, PancakeSwap, Hyperfluid, Nightly Wallet, and Petra Wallet.

Aave x Aptos

Early this January, Aave, the largest liquidity protocol by TVL (nearly $19.9B) integrated with Aptos testnet. This marks Aave’s first non-EVM integration, expanding its reach into Move-base ecosystems and when available on mainnet, could bring substantial liquidity to Aptos.

Aptos integrated with Chainlink CCIP and Data Feeds, providing developers access to accurate and tamper-proof data to support the development of highly secure applications on the network.

AI Agents on Aptos

Joule Finance introduced MetaMove, a builder-led initiative to explore AI on Aptos, starting with a Move AI Agent SDK. This launch unlocks new possibilities for AI-powered consumer products on the network.

More Emojis, Please

Emojicoin market cap is now denominated in USD—a testament to how community-driven projects can drive massive engagement and traction.

Aptos Accelerates in NYC

Ankaa—a $10 million accelerator program established by the Aptos Foundation in collaboration with OKX Ventures—hosted its demo day in Aptos’ NYC office with 5 projects: PlaysOut, Luckey Keyboard, Mereo and Hyperfluid.

The Takeaway...

January’s achievements demonstrate Aptos’ rapid advancement on multiple fronts: welcoming blue-chip protocols like Aave, launching next-gen integrations such as Chainlink Data Feeds, and driving strong growth across DeFi, gaming and AI. User activity is surging as well, with the network nearing 15 million monthly active accounts—up from 1.7 million at this time last year.

If this is just January, 2025 is shaping up to be a breakout year for the ecosystem.
