Native USDC & Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol are Coming to Aptos

• Native USDC, issued by Circle, and Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) will be coming soon to the Aptos network. 

• Stripe’s payments services, paired with native USDC, will also be integrated to provide a fiat on-ramp for the Aptos network.

Enabling Secure Digital Dollar Transactions

USDC, issued by Circle, is the largest regulated, dollar-backed stablecoin. By bringing native USDC to Aptos, users and developers can enjoy greater security and accessibility. 

What’s more, bridged USDC is the most prevalent stablecoin available on the network with more than $140M in circulation on Aptos. Bridge providers such as Stargate, built on LayerZero, will provide a smooth transition from the existing bridged USDC on Aptos to native USDC over time.

Once the integration is complete, users will be able to seamlessly transfer USDC between Aptos and 8 major blockchains–including Arbitrum, Base, Ethereum and Solana–thanks to CCTP. This cross-chain network opens the door to over 72 different pathways for transactions and enables Aptos users to participate in a truly interoperable DeFi ecosystem. With CCTP, Aptos will support seamless cross-chain transactions for onboarding, swapping, treasury rebalancing, and beyond—all with 1:1 capital efficiency. By maintaining a user-friendly experience and facilitating frictionless asset transfers, CCTP will empower both developers and users with new opportunities for DeFi.

Bridging Fiat and Aptos-Native USDC

In addition to USDC and CCTP, Stripe will soon launch its payment services on Aptos—creating a reliable fiat on-ramp to streamline merchant pay-ins and payouts using Aptos-compatible wallets. Doing so will allow users to seamlessly convert fiat currencies into USDC, while businesses can leverage stablecoins using Aptos-native USDC infrastructure. 

With Stripe’s reliable payment tools on Aptos, global merchants and payment providers can process transactions faster, more securely and at lower costs.
